Transfer News | Lamb Joins From Smethwick Rangers
Nuneaton Town FC are pleased to announce the signing of 22-year-old centre back Jake Lamb who joins the club from fellow Capelli Sport Midland Football League Division One side Smethwick Rangers.
Lamb spent the 2021-22 season with Boldmere St Michaels in their Under 21 set up after progressing through their academy making 13 appearances scoring two goals.
He then joined Smethwick Rangers in 2023 and has gone on to make over 50 appearances for the club scoring four goals in his two seasons there.
Joint Manager Russel Dodd was very happy to get the move over the line saying:
“I’m delighted that Jake has finally agreed to join Nuneaton. Jake is a player I have watched develop for a number of years and I tried to sign him last year and in pre-season. Jake has a good relationship with Sam, the Smethwick manager and had been loyal to him, but I really believe it is time he now kicked on in his career. He is only 22 and I believe could have a great career at Nuneaton for many years.”
Jake also expressed how he is looking forward to a fresh challenge saying:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Nuneaton Town FC. This is a massive opportunity for me, and I can’t wait to get started. From the moment I heard about this move, I knew it was the right step in my career. Playing for such a big club is an honour, and I’m excited to work under Russ and Darren, who I believe can help me fulfill my potential. I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates, getting out on the pitch, and giving everything for the fans. I know there’s a lot of hard work ahead, but I’m ready for the challenge and can’t wait to contribute to the team’s success.”
The club would also like to place on record its thanks to Smethwick manager Sam Heath in allowing this move to go ahead.
Jake is available for selection tomorrow as we travel to Paget Rangers. Find out more about the fixture here.
Welcome to the Town Jake!
