It's the big one. The bank holiday bonanza. The first ever competitive meeting between the two senior sides in Nuneaton occurs on Monday 26th August - in Bedworth! With Nuneaton Town and Nuneaton Griff in the same division for the first time, bragging rights will be on the line!

Nuneaton Griff were formed in 1972, as Nuneaton Amateurs, following a dispute at Coton Sports FC causing members to transfer to the Griff and Coton Sports Club.

Initially joining the Coventry Alliance, they stayed there for a number of years. In 1998, after a period of success, they applied for the Midland Combination. That league became the Midland League Division 1 and Nuneaton Griff, as they are known now, are one of the league's longest serving members.

The Griff reached the last 8 of the FA Vase in 2016-17, and also once won the Endsleigh Challenge Cup (at Villa Park) and the Coventry Telegraph Cup (at Highfield Road) on consecutive nights, being the only club to have won two cups at two different Premier League stadia on consecutive evenings.

The Griff have had a mixed start to the season, having had 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats.
